M. Carleton McHenry, CFP®, ChSNC®

Carleton co-founded StillHaven Family Office, and brings substantial wealth management experience based on his prior career stints having worked for both Wall Street (Merrill Lynch) and Main Street (GWFC). Carleton's desire on the finance side was to incorporate the best of both to provide clients with Wall Street capabilities but with Main Street transparency. The firm takes pride in being a boutique firm that can offer both.

As CEO and Wealth Manager of the firm, Carleton personally enjoys working with every client guiding them to achieve their long term financial goals and objectives. His 25+ years of industry experience enables him to bring a seasoned perspective to his advice and client work.

Carleton initially studied at Cornell University and then the University of Texas at Austin. Carleton can remember taking a personal finance class at UT that he really liked which motivated him to want to learn more. This became the foundation for his start in financial services which ultimately led him on this journey.

Carleton met his wife Laura back in 2018 who introduced him to the town of Leavenworth, WA. He immediately fell in love with the place where he could sense God's beauty all around.

Carleton is active with several organizations in the community including his church. He has been a champion over his lifetime for helping those in his community who have a need - whether mentally through his time with the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) and the National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI) or those with a special need like his youngest son, Mac.

Having a son who is special needs fueled Carleton's desire to want to help other families like his tackle the unique challenges that come with this. This led to his pursuit of planning expertise and advocacy for special needs families by completing the Chartered Special Needs Consultant program and obtaining the ChSNC® designation.

When he is not working, Carleton loves being in the outdoors whether it is hunting, fishing or snow skiing. He also loves being around other dads watching their kids play sports or just enjoying a beer or a nice glass of wine with other friends doing the same.

Besides his family, this bio would not be complete without also mentioning his other two loves - Otis and Millie - his two black English style Labrador Retrievers - who you will find him walking around town every day and would love for you to come say hello to them!

Laura McHenry

Laura co-founded StillHaven Family Office and brings extensive management experience with the firm. Laura grew up in Woodinville, WA and attended college at Central Washington University in Ellensberg. With a desire to pursue a career in marketing and sales, Laura moved over to the west side and started her career in Seattle. Although she enjoyed her time there, she wanted to explore other options outside the state, so Laura eventually moved to Austin, TX in 2014 before many others did the same.

Laura and Carleton first met at a Christian based fundraiser where they happened to sit at the same table next to one another as guests of the host who sponsored the table! They soon started dating, and were married shortly thereafter.

Laura and Carleton both had a strong desire to raise their family in a smaller community with easier access to the outdoors. Leavenworth was a natural fit since this was a part of the state where Laura had spent extensive time, and had family in the region growing up. After getting married in her hometown of Woodinville, Laura took Carleton to Leavenworth for a mini-honeymoon and the rest was history!

Laura has spent extensive time over the past 5 years navigating the social care requirements required to raise her son, Mac, here in Washington State. The difficulties, challenges, and headwinds that have occurred with this process inspired both her and Carleton to build a firm dedicated to helping other families like theirs.
